Ear Surgery or otoplasty is performed on patients of all ages from children to adults. The structure of the ear can be affected due to genetics, jewelry, trauma, or tumor growth. Dr. Johnson Lee will carefully examine your ear anatomy and medical history to determine the appropriate treatment plan to restore, restructure, and reconstruct your ear.
Incisions will vary according to the procedure however most incisions are kept within natural creases or behind the ear when possible.
Anesthesia is general or sedation and patients can go home the same day.
Recovery usually takes just several days before many patients return to routine activity. There will be protective dressings in place and you will be asked to avoid applying pressure when sleeping or wearing headwear for two weeks. Strenuous activity and contact sports can usually be resumed with care after four weeks.
Results of surgery are immediate and long-lasting.
