Breast Lift or Mastopexy improves the overall shape and contour of the breasts while lifting them into a more youthful position. This is a great procedure for patients who have tuberous (tube-shaped) breasts, age-related ptosis (drooping), or deflation from weight loss or breastfeeding. Other enhancements can be performed at the same time including implant placement for more volume and nipple-areola reductions to improve overall proportions.
Incisions may vary depending on your current size and breast position. They can be around the nipple and areola or discretely extended into the breast crease area when excess skin is present.
Anesthesia is general anesthesia and patients can expect to go home shortly after surgery. Some patients may require an overnight stay, particularly if additional procedures are performed.
Recovery is variable but most patients can slowly increase from light activities to their normal routine by 2-3 weeks. More strenuous activity may allowed after 4 weeks.
Results are long lasting. Overall shape and incision sites continue to improve shortly after surgery.
